José Bautista is, above all, a PAINTER. A craftsman of form, colour, texture and light. A worker dedicated to the labour of representing reality into two dimensions. His career, in which his work as portraitist stands out with special relevance, moves in a constant search to combine figuration with the study of the expressive value of pictorial elements.

A year later, he obtained a second scholarship to collaborate in the Wood and Plaster Workshops of the Patronage of Alhambra and Generalife, in Granada.

As for his professional career, José Bautista has combined his work as an artistic painter with restoration, working in architectural groups as emblematic as the Alhambra (where he took part in the restoration of the Gallonada Vault of the Qubba, in Rauda’s Tower), the Cathedral of Granada, the House Museum "Manuel de Falla" or the Church and Convent of San Antón. He has also worked as a teacher in several Secondary Schools throughout Andalusia.
